WHAT IS YiS?

The Youth Information Service (YiS) offers free and confidential counselling to young people aged 13-25.


HOW CAN COUNSELLING HELP YOU?

If you want to talk to someone our trained counsellors will listen, offer support and help you work out your feelings so that YOU can decide what you want to do. No problem is too small or too large for you to share it with us.

HOW WE WORK

The young people who contact YiS come from a wide range of background and family situations. They are young people from your neighbourhood, your street and maybe from your family. They hear about YiS from friends, family neighbours, youth workers, schools, health centres, and social workers.

We offer young people Counselling by appointment. We might refer to other specialist agencies as required. If a young person is unsure of the type of help they need we will spend time with them to help them to identify what they need.


As well as our work with individuals we produce and distribute information relevant to the welfare of all young people.
