For your horse riding pleasure a 75km network of horse riding trails has been provided by the former Milton Keynes Development Corporation.

The Centre provides facilities for all equestrian activities in the area. It is affiliated to the BHS and instruction is given by Qualified Instructors. Over forty well-schooled horses and ponies are provided for both novice, experienced, children and adults either individually or in groups.

The Centre is approved by the Riding for the Disabled and also provides many Youth Training Scheme Courses. It is an examination centre for Career Students.

Other activities include Summer Evening Show Jumping Competitions Own a Pony for The Day and Summer Residential Riding Holidays.

How To Rent A Paddock
The Milton Keynes Parks Trust owns 55 paddocks within the Park system.

Almost all of them have a trough with a water supply and most of them have a basic animal shelter. They are located adjacent to horse-trails and are offered to horse-owners at competitive rates.

British Horse Society
The British Horse Society was founded in 1947 when the National Horse Association and the Institute of the Horse and Pony club decided to work together for the good of both horse and rider. The society works tirelessly through its officials, and its army of volunteers out in the field, to improve the standards of care for horses and ponies.

Benefits for members now include free Third Party Public Liability and personal Accident insurance, free legal advice, free publications, reductions to BHS events, special facilities at the major shows and free advice and information on any equine query.

Maps and Publications
The Official Milton Keynes City Map - Scale 1:10,000 is the best reference for the horse trails in the City area, available from libraries, bookshops, some newsagents and the Tourist Information Office.

Landranger Ordnance Survey - Map No 152 and Pathfinder - Map Nos 1001, 1023, 1024, 1046 and 1047 also show routes outside the city area.
