Haversham Sailing Club
What is HSC?
The club is of course fully affiliated to the Royal Yachting Association and aspires to high standards of safety and sailing standards. The Club, through a successful Lottery Sports Fund grant, own and manage Haversham Lake, the well equipped and modern clubhouse as well as the surrounding land which includes a secure dinghy and car parking area. Why sailing? Sailing is an excellent all year family sport and pastime. As a sport it is almost unique in that young and old, novice and expert, men and women can compete together on equal terms, either singly, in pairs or in teams. As a pastime it provides families wonderful opportunities to meet new challenges and work together to learn new skills. It offers an enjoyable and effective route to super-fitness by the young and more modest fitness by the more mature. What facilities are at Haversham Sailing Club? Haversham Lake is probably the best sailing water in Milton Keynes. The site is about 80 acres with virtually unobstructed wind across the lake. The Club has the exclusive use of the water for water born activities, which include both sailing dinghies and sailboards. Who can join and what does it cost? The Membership Secretary will always be pleased to give information over the phone, but potential members are encouraged to visit the club on any Sunday to obtain fuller details - that way they can also meet other members and appreciate the club atmosphere. Temporary membership may be granted whilst formalities are being processed.
