A visitor to Wolverton today will find a good example today of an old railway town with very traditional shopping and a very interesting mix of facilities.

| The Agora centre is a indoor shopping centre and houses a varied selection of retail outlets and a small indoor market. There are many bargains to be found. You will find a hairdressers, haberdashery that sells wool (very difficult to find in Milton Keynes), a shoe shop and a selection of clothing outlets.
On the outside of the Agora lies a Co-op store and a post office. The outdoor market is also held there every Friday and Saturday. Also a Sunday car boot sale.
A brand new supermarket has opened in Wolverton. It offers something different from your usual supermarket food. The new Asian Speciality store provides exotic delights including a halal butches, Asian foods, African and Caribbean foods, general groceries, fresh fruit and veg, savouries, snacks and specialist spices.
Continuing along Church Street you will find Maisies, the place for a real bargain. She sells just about everything at knock down prices. There is also a wonderful old fashioned shoe shop where you can often find shoes not available in the big modern centres. There is also a chemist, opticians and estate agents.
Other small shops in and around the area include a traditional butchers, a greengrocers that also sells flowers, a pet shop, and a second hand furniture shop, - ideal if you are into renovation. There are new items on offer on a weekly basis so it is always worth going back if you don't find what you want the first time. shops selling new furniture and electrical goods, computer supplies and servicing, Halal butchers.
Those who are keen on fishing will be interested to hear that there are two shops in Wolverton who specialize in their sport.

In complete contrast Wolverton also boasts a modern Tesco's store tastefully disguised behind some of the older buildings on the mainstreet. Opposite there is another precinct with a Farmfoods, Nettos, a motorist store, a furniture shop, video and games hire and a clothing outlet.
Just opposite Nettos, on the new Town Council site you will find a fortnightly Farmers Market selling a range of organic goods grown or produced by local suppliers.
If you want something to eat while you are visiting, Wolverton can boast a great mixture of restaurants from English to Indian and Chinese - there is also a Mongolian buffet upstairs in the Agora. There are some great fish and chip shops too! You can find it all here
Wolverton is definitely a town of contrasts - the very modern mixed with the traditional. If you want to find a bargain it is worth checking in Wolverton first.
