Really good curry

We used to go this restaurant quite frequently when it was Maharajas but had been put off when it changed to the Silk Road but I'm glad we decided to give it a go again.
Two of us went last Saturday night and had a really good meal.
I started off with the Achari paneer shashlik, the cheese was lovely and soft on the inside and you could taste the charcoal it had been cooked over. My husband had the Onion Bhaji which he said were excellent, quite spicey.
For my main course I had the Lahori kadhai massala cooked with King Prawns, plenty of prawns and a very tasty sauce. My husband opted for the Jalfrezi which he thoroughly enjoyed. The chilli naan bread was light and fluffy.
We managed to share a Pistachio Kulfi which nicely cleared the palate after all that chilli and garlic!
Look forward to going back and trying something else.
Good atmosphere, friendly but not over attentive staff and overall felt like we had had good value for money.

I bless the day I discovered the Silk Road, and was able to introduce it's wonderful cuisine to my friends and family,who visit from all over the UK (and treat me to fantastic meals there, too!)Not many restaurants can boast that someone travels over 100 miles,to enjoy their unique Lobster Piri Piri -but the Silk Road certainly can! Not only is every dish on the menu superbly cooked and presented, but the ambience is fantastic. The staff are very helpful and friendly; attentive to diners' needs,but never intrusive, even at their busiest times. I've eaten good food in top restaurants all over Europe and America, but for me, my family and friends, Silk Road will always be the best!
