The Children's Fund started as part of a national preventive programme to give early support to children and young people aged between 5 –13 and their families.

Our programme started in 2003 and was intended to continue until 2008. During this time we worked with everyone to maintain and build services to make sure small problems do not turn into big ones.

Milton Keynes Children's Fund has, thanks to the efforts of staff at numerous agencies, dozens and dozens of local parents and most importantly incredible numbers of children and young people, achieved a great deal since it started in 2003.

Big congratulations to Karen Caldbeck and Cultural Community Partnership on winning Citizen Pride Awards on Tuesday 4th December.

Karen picked up the gong for ‘Making a Difference on Our Streets, through her hard work and determination in the Greenleys Community.

We've Got Pride - MK Pride Awards

Tinkers Bridge Drop-In, a recent project started by MK Children's Fund in conjunction with Woughton Parish Council, was one of several local communities to be involved in workshops organised by Milton Keynes Orchestra. Members of the orchestra worked with parents and children using their instruments to the sounds and colours of birds.

The culmination of this work was a family concert called The Birds at Milton Keynes Theatre. Before the concert began there was a performance in the theatre foyer by children from Olney Infant and St. Marys, Wavendon CofE schools.
