Over £30K Raised By Early Morning Business Breakfast Groups

Some of Milton Keynes business breakfast groups have beaten the mentality of economic recession. Nine members from Thursday morning's BNI group and a member of Tuesday's group, which both meet in Harben House in Newport Pagnell, have collectively raised £30,215 over the past 12 months, for a range of local and national charities.

"This is a clear demonstration of how the passion and generosity of a handful of SMEs can make a difference. Many of our members in Milton Keynes share the opinion that the increased flexibility of smaller businesses makes them more resilient when the nation's monetary chips are down. The fact that they can still extract the resource to put their weight behind charity fundraising, despite the economic downturn, lays testament to the strong characters running these companies," said Jacky Sherman, assistant director of local BNI groups.

Gwen Pearson, head of fundraising for the Spinal Injuries Association in Milton Keynes, and a member of the Thursday morning BNI group added:

"The commercial importance of low-cost, high-amusement schemes amongst the local business community should not be underestimated. We often hear of new business generation for the companies that support us, from the relationships that are formed while networking within fundraising projects."

The charitable companies that had great fun raising this large sum were: Admiral Solutions and Support, Celebrate Health and Fitness, Chalky Whites Auto Repair Centre, Daxic Web Design, Heald Solicitors, MK Flyers, NatWest, Rok, Shepherd Interiors and Solution Factors PR and Marketing.
