The Licensing Team are responsible for the administration of a range of licences, registrations and consents including sale of alcohol, provision of entertainment, late night refreshment and gambling.

Interested parties and Responsible Authorities are able to make representations against certain types of applications under the Licensing Act 2003. Any representations must relate to at least 1 of the 4 licensing objectives.

From March 1st 2005 it has been an offence to work as a door supervisor without a licence issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) . Details can be found at http://www.the-sia.org.uk/

Street Trading Advice

The Milton Keynes Council regulates street trading under powers adopted from the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982. Streets are designated as 'Consent Streets' and 'Prohibited Streets'. Street Trading Advice

The Council operates a voluntary scheme for mobile food traders operating in Milton Keynes. Approved traders receive a scheme plate that fits onto their vehicle so that the public can have confidence that the operator complies with food safety legislation and recognised best practice.
