The Council hosts a Standards Committee to oversee the standards and ethics of the elected, co-opted and independent local authority members, including town and parish councillors within the Milton Keynes area. Applications are new being accepted for the post of Independent Member of the Council's Standards Committee

Local Strategic Partnership

Council and Democracy - Handshake
The Local Strategic Partnership is a high level partnership bringing together a wide range of public, private, voluntary and community interests.

Its aim is to promote the sustainable, social, economic and environmental well being of the people of Milton Keynes.

Meetings of the Local Strategic partnership are held on a quarterly basis and are open to the public.

Members of the public are most welcome to attend the meetings and, in certain cases, can ask questions. If you would like further information please phone 252389 or email communitystrategy@milton-keynes.gov.uk

Civic Information

The Mayor of Milton Keynes is chosen each year at the Annual Council Meeting (usually in May). During his or her year in office the Mayor is the First Citizen of Milton Keynes and as such is an ambassador for the town and for the Council.
