Friendly & Welcoming B&B

Spending nearly 4 months at Elm Tree Farm while working on a local contract is testiment enough of the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that all guests are greeted with by Merv and Lucy.

All rooms have microwaves, perfect for those quick snacks and WiFi for those like me who can't go without email for any longer than 2 hours!

Elm Tree Farm is situated opposite a highly rated public house, which will shortly have a wonderful marina behind it. I have no problems recommending Elm Tree Farm and I hope to be paying a visit again in the future.

We stayed 4 nights for the Grand Prix at Elm Tree Farm, the rooms were nice and bright - a shower in each room and microwave - we were greeted in the morning with a lovely cooked breakfast - Lucy and Merv were lovely and friendly - and there is a key code entry system so you can come and go as you please - great pub across the road and within 15 mins of Milton Keynes, hope to be able to come back again!

Thanks

Thanks Lucy and Mervin for a wonderful 3 day stay at your farm. Our room was bright and airy with a great view of the rolling countryside. The bathroom was very clean and plenty of space in the shower. The Navigation pub across the road is great for food and real ales and a lovely view down the canal.
Lucy and Mervin were very helpful and caring and we look forward to staying again in the future.

Thanks again.

Lucy and family made us feel very welcome. We were only in MK for 2 days, visiting Xscape.

We had a comfortable room with a hearty home cooked breakfast. There is a great pub across the road with good food and a wide choice of real ales. On Friday there is live music.

Lucy & Mervin suggested a great walk along the canal, to another hostelry. It was lovely to see the canal boats and wildlife.

Would recommend staying here at Elm Tree Farm and would choose to stay with the family again if we are in the area again.

Saturday Night

Drove down from Manchester on Saturday morning and stayed at the B&B for a party taking place at the Navigation Inn - couldn't have been better!! Not only were we within stumbling distance of the pub (which served a brilliant meal for 20+ of us) but Lucy was happy to serve us a later breakfast to allow for hangovers. She also cooked up my vegan sausages which was much appreciated!
Lovely location, right by the canal. We managed a canal walk before setting off back and it's somewhere I would definitely like to visit again. Loved the veg patch in the garden, especially the boots!

Definitely our cup of tea

After coming down from Luton to Cosgrove, MK on a nightmarish drive in the dark with wind and rain – quite a few roundabouts saw us at least twice! ha, ha – we had three quiet nights and days at Elm Tree Farm and loved every moment there.

Spoilt by Lucy’s yummy breakfast in the morning, we were fit to walk the towpath by the canal, where we enjoyed looking at the colourful narrow boats, all the daffodils and white violets the season offers so lavishly, and listened to the robins in the hedges. Later we followed the Ouse into pretty Stony Stratford and got back ‘home’ again to relax over a cup of tea and a microwave heated snack in our comfy room (with en suite bathroom), from where you can watch the cows feeding first thing in the morning and the boats gliding North and South past Navigation Inn.

There is so much to learn from being taken by Lucy on a livestock tour and allowed a glimpse into very interesting, busy and also difficult life on a farm today; we think it such an experience especially for city families with kids (the price is moderate!) who cannot help believing their grub is growing in the supermarket next door. We marvel at how Lucy, Merv and family (two lusty kids and their lively granny who keeps the poultry) can be so easy-going, friendly and caring for their guests despite their busy days. Thanks a lot.

One thing we missed: more time to stay –however, we hope to return!!!

A perfect place to stay in the countryside

We have stayed at Elm Tree farm a number of times in the last year and it is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of London and spend a quiet weekend in the countryside. The rooms are comfortable and it really feels like it is home from home. Lucy and her family have always made us feel most welcome and it is lovely staying on a proper working farm.

Usual story - came for a week and stayed three months - which should say it all really. Lucy and merv (not forgetting the little ones) are most welcoming, there is a very decent pub bang opposite, and this is a working farm so if you like the sights and sounds of the countryside this is the place to stay. Good access too - central MK 15 minutes, M1 10 minutes, also some good walks locally. And I shall miss the breakfasts...........!

Perfect place to stay. Thanks again

Elm tree farm is a great place to stay.

A friend and I where riding our bikes down the grand union canal from Birmingham to London and Lucy and Merv’s farm is at the half way mark (give or take). We had a nice welcome and the rooms where perfect with a good shower. There is a pub called the “Navigation Inn” across the road that not only is a welcoming sight from down the canal but also seves food until 9pm, I think.

There are plenty of places to store your bikes and you might even be introduced to some of the animals as you go.

All in all a great place to stay and highly recommended, if riding your bike walking or just to stay awhile. If you are riding down the canal from north to south keep going from this point on the ground gets so much better. I promise.

I was greeted by Lucy and Merv driving a digger and tractor respectively, so it is a working farm! I was visting Silverstone for a BTCC race and the circuit is approx 15 minutes away.
Rooms are modern and well kept. Pub opposite serves good food and priced higher than average, but not massively.
Would recommend to anyone.

We stayed for two nights to go to the Robbie concert at the Bowl and wished we could have stayed longer.

The pub across the road serves good food and we had a very relaxing evening after the drive down.

Lucy and Merv made us feel very welcome and totally at home and the accommodation was lovely. Any excuse and we'll be back!

We have just stayed here for a weekend whilst attending the a Robbie Williams gig at the MK Bowl, only 10 minutes drive from the farm. Private secure access to our room made it convenient for vistor and proprietor; whislt the room was clean and comfortable with superb ensuite facilities (shower). The home made breakfast was scrummy and provided at our convenience. Located across the road from a Pub, which offers great drink, food and live entertainment.
Lucy & Merv will make you really welcome and ensure your stay is enjoyable.

We stayed here for weekend of F1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone about 15/ 20 minutes drive away.Room was very clean, comfortable and homely with very stylish ensuite shower room. The temeperature outside was very warm but the room was light and airy causing us no problems for sleeping. The rooms have a seperate enterance which was great didn't feel we were intruding in Lucy & Merv's home.Lucy & Merv were very friendly and helpful.Kindly leaving us cereal, juice and bread etc for a very early breakfast on race day.We would recommend it to anybody travelling to the area and hope to visit them again next year for race weekend. The pub directly across the road also serves meals in a beautiful setting which were great and good value.Lucy and Merv are to be commended for their great work with a working farm,b&b and 2 small children they still have time to make you feel very welcome in their home.

Stayed here for 4 weeks whilst working in central Milton Keynes, distance to MK is about 8 miles taking 15-20 mins on the A5 dual carriageway. Accommodation is very smart, separate entrance for guests so you can come and go as you please, excellent pub across the road, secure parking, Lucy and Merv are very accommodating and were happy to provide me with an early breakfast.
