Following concerns about the bus service possibly being curtailed at the end of July, Cllr David Hopkins spoke with Stuart Simmonds (Passenger Transport) at MK Council who has put his mind at rest.
Stuart has checked with the bus operator and there is a small change to the X31 journeys to Hemel Hempstead, but no change to journeys to Milton Keynes.
The X31 therefore continues beyond July and, far from ceasing the service, is a service that Centrebus sees a long term future for and wishes to develop over time
Obviously, the first step in improving the service to Little Brickhill will be to introduce additional journeys to plug the gaps, but to a certain extent this will depend on patronage on the service growing. Centrebus has certainly given the impression that they would like to grow the service and armed with the evidence emerging from the current survey, we will be in a much stronger position to lobby for such a result.
