MK Dons boss Karl Robinson said that today’s 2-0 victory at Hartlepool came despite one of his side’s worst displays of the season.
Goals from Patrick Bamford and Dean Bowditch were enough for the visitors at a chilly Victoria Park, but the manager wasn’t satisfied with the performance against the division’s bottom club.
“It was a very professional performance but on the other hand, I didn’t think we were very good today,” Robinson said.
“That was probably one of our worst displays of the season but it’s a win.”
Dons are now 11th in the League One table, nine points adrift of the play-offs with two games in hand on sides above them.
“I said six wins from eight and it’s now five wins from seven,” said Robinson.
“We can only worry about our results at the moment and if we can put in a good performance on Monday against a very good Brentford side and get a victory then it will put us right back in the mix. That’s the challenge that has been set.”
