Dons boss Karl Robinson believes that a home tie with Barnsley in the fifth round of the FA Cup is a ‘great draw’.
Many would have wanted to see Dons paired with a Premier League giant after their fourth round upset victory over QPR, but the manager said he was happy to welcome the Championship strugglers to stadiummk.
A quarter final spot will be at stake in the game against the Tykes, to be played over the weekend of February 16/17.
“They will see it as a winnable tie and so will we,” Robinson said.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for ourselves or Barnsley to get to the quarter finals, that would be history making.
“The chairman wants the headline fixture as it’s £1million plus if you get a big team away, but I want to get as far in the FA Cup as we can.”
