Notes: We offer gymnastics from "tots to teens". We are registered with Milton Keynes Council. Our coaches are British Gymnastics Qualified and CRB checked. We work closely with the MK Schools Sports Partnership offering tutoring and training to teachers. We currently have four community coaches in schools across the whole of Milton Keynes training and assisting schools in their development of gymnastics and high quality P.E. We have created a training package for teachers throughout Milton Keynes to use, so that grass roots gymnastics can continue to be developed after our coach has moved on to another school.

Gymnastics and training for children aged as young as 10 months in our pre-school classes, in a wall to wall padded gymnastic hall, through to young adults. We provide qualified and assistant coaching staff along with Olympic equipment of tumble track, asymmetric bars, balance beams, trampet, vault, trampoline and floor work. We have development squads which are trained up to county and regional levels.

During the week we provide a selection of progressive training groups, which are based on ability and age. With a welcoming atmosphere that would be hard to beat in any club, our children can compete, train or just plain enjoy gymnastics for the fun of it.

All coaches and volunteers are CRB checked with MK Council and British Gymnastics. The club is the first in the city to be awarded Gym Mark (Jan 06) by its governing body, which means the club offers a friednly and safe enviroment to children. Alan Armitage is the first full time community sports coach to teach in the schools in MK with Leon School and the county partnership scheme.

SNUGS (Special Needs Unit Gymnasts)

The SNUGS (Special Needs Unit Gymnasts), established in 1994, is a registered charity, providing specialised gymnastics training for children and young people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities such as cerebral palsy, Asperger's and Down's Syndrome. They train weekly at Woughton campus. The team is unique in the UK in being the only independent gymnastics club for youngsters with special needs, not affiliated to an able-bodied club. The SNUGS learn a variety of skills and develop their potential in a range of gymnastics disciplines: vault, floor routines, beam & bar work, trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics with ribbons, balls & hoops. They take part in regional and national competitions, and have won achievement awards at County level.

The SNUGS philosophy is that disability is no barrier to sporting achievement. We welcome all youngsters who are enthusiastic to join in gymnastics training. Not only does this provide physical benefits, it also develops social skills, general co-ordination, self esteem and discipline. We also have a lot of fun!

We rely heavily on volunteer coaches and provide training for them. We also have trampolining sessions and some music and dancing, so we can offer a range of activities so all our youngsters (whatever their abilities) can take part.
