The new Red Bull car for this year’s Formula 1 series has been put through its paces in Spain.
The RB9 was unveiled at the group’s Tilbrook headquarters this weekend by team drivers Mark Webber, and triple world champion Sebastian Vettel.
And Webber couldn’t wait to get started as he racked up the first pre-season laps yesterday in Jerez, Spain.
The RB9 has the job of helping the team retain both the constructors and driver titles.
Signs were encouraging as the RB9 posted the second quickest time behind Jenson Button’s McLaren.
Team principal Christian Horner said: “The 2012 season was tough and long, but our success was testimony to all the hard work and dedication in the factory.
“We have continuity throughout, and there is a fierce determination to keep both those trophies in the cabinet for another year.”
