A GARDEN and leisure store will create 150 new jobs when it opens later this year.

The Range will open its doors in Snowdon Drive, Winterhill, on November 15 at a retail development built on the former home of basketball club MK Lions at Grafton Court.

It forms part of the scheme by Albion Land, which has pre-let the 40,000sq ft unit to The Range, with another 10,000sq ft unit plus mezzanine still available.

The new store will offer a variety of products from DIY to furniture and lighting and the 150 new jobs will include full-time and part-time positions such as store and department managers and warehouse and admin staff.

The Range is owned and run by entrepreneur Chris Dawson. He said: “Milton Keynes is the perfect location for us as a company. We are very much looking forward to the move. There is much more to come and it won’t stop here, that I can guarantee you.

“We are very pleased to be able to create a number of local jobs and are confident this store will play a huge part in the continued success of The Range brand across the UK. I would like to thank the council for welcoming us to Milton Keynes with such open arms.”
