Monkston is in the South-East of Milton Keynes and is bordered by the H8, V10, H7 and V11. The area is named after an ancient bridge over the river Ouzel.
Monkston is build around an area called Blanchland Circle which has been left as playing fields which gives it a lovely open feeling

Monkston building and development is now completed. In the centre lies a large playing field with football pitches, the home side being MK Wanderers. Close bye is The Monkston Community Centre and Sports Pavilion where typical versatile facilities are provided. This is a thriving centre providing a base for many clubs and societies including care of the young pre-school and after school.
The eastern side of Monkston is within quick and easy walking distance of Kingston District Centre with a Tesco Extra Superstore and many other national retailers and fast food outlets. Here, can also be found, the City Table Tennis Centre and Gymnasium, the community Police Office, the University of the Third Age (U3A) offices, and the Kingston Child care centre.
The western side of Monkston looks towards the city centre and towards the developing community of Monkston Park. At the end of 2005 this estate provides a variety of housing type from apartments to many and varied conventional house types is approximately 70% complete. Monkston Park leads to the linear Ousel River parklands.
The internationally known educational centre of the Open University is close bye and easily accessible by road or footpath.

Monkston has its own Combined School Secondary education is at Walton High or Sir Frank Markham in Leadenhall or the new Oakgrove secondary school.
Monkston and Monkston Park are close to access points of the M1 at junctions 13 or 14. Within 5 minutes drive are the lakes at Willen and Caldecotte. It takes about 10 minutes to get to CMK by car, 15 - 20 minutes by bicycle and 15 minutes by bus.
Buses to the city centre are number 11 which cuts through the estate and number 9 which is the Bletchley to MK City Centre and Station service. This calls in at Kingston and can be caught at the bus stop on the V11 Tongwell Street opposite Kingston.
