The twin villages of Shenley Church End and Shenley Brook End lie on the south western flank of Milton Keynes close to the old Roman Road of Watling Street, the V4.

The village and parish name comes from "sen(e)lai" and was recorded in the Domesday Book. The earthworks of a substantial fort can be found in Shenley Church End and the Church of St Mary dates back to the 12th Century. The village is reputed to have growing in it a hawthorn bush which, like the one at Glastonbury Abbey, only blooms at Christmastime. This area is a delightful mix of the old and the new. Traditional villages intermix with tastefully designed modern housing. There is a suitable mix of housing to suit every budget. Many of the buildings are Grade II listed including Westbury Farm. The Energy World Exhibition was built at Shenley Lodge. For the exhibition in 1986, 51 energy efficient houses were built which were then sold as private dwellings. The area is served by a number of lower and middle schools with Denbigh providing education from 12 up to 18. It is a five minute drive to the shopping centre and a regular bus service operates. The modern side of Shenley Church End boasts one of the largest local centres in the city. Its clock tower is clearly visible from the V4. It has a wide range of shops including a chemist, newsagent, supermarket, bakers, Chinese restaurant, cycle shop and a hairdressers. There is also a Catholic Church, a health centre and the Shenley Chiropractic Centre. The village of Shenley Church End provides a complete contrast with traditional country cottages, a village pond, ancient church and a private day nursery in the old village school.
